Ross Cushing, Au.D. is co-owner of A&A Hearing Group. He received a Doctorate in Clinical Audiology and a Masters in Communicative Disorders & Sciences from the University of Buffalo, where he was awarded the honor of top graduating audiology clinician.
He has published articles on audiology related topics ranging from tinnitus to best practices for patient care, and currently writes a quarterly column in Hearing Health News, a national educational magazine for consumers. Dr. Cushing also provides audiology related consultation for the state of Maryland and private companies.
Dr. Ross Cushing is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, on the Education Committee of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology, and on the Convention Committee for the Maryland Academy of Audiology.
Jenifer Woo Cushing, Au.D. is co-owner of A&A Hearing Group. She graduated with a Doctorate in Clinical Audiology from the University at Buffalo and, while there, published over twenty peer reviewed scientific articles while working at the Center for Hearing and Deafness, more than any other graduating audiology clinician before her.
Dr. Cushing enjoys giving presentations to her peers and to the community on topics related to hearing health and technology. Her expertise is in hearing diagnostics and hearing aids, and has a unique expertise in electrophysiolgical measures because of her graduate research.
Dr. Jenifer Cushing is a Fellow of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology and American Academy of Audiology and she is a member of the Maryland Academy of Audiology. She participates with the mentorship committee and is a member of the Practice Resouce Advisory Committee for the Academy of Doctors of Audiology. Away from work, she spending time with her her three children at story times, playing hide and seek, and exploring new adventures.
Alicia D.D. Spoor, Au.D., FAAA, joined A & A Hearing Group in 2011. Previously, Dr. Spoor was part of the cochlear implant and hearing aid teams at Mayo Clinic in Arizona. She received her Doctor of Audiology degree and Master of Science degree from Gallaudet University, in Washington, D.C. Clinical internship experiences included Bethesda National Naval Medical Center (BNNMC), Ft. Belvoir Army Community Hospital and Kendall Demonstration Elementary School (KDES). In addition, she has 8 years of formal American Sign Language (ASL) education and has completed intensive coursework in Deaf culture and multicultural sensitivity.
Dr. Spoor taught at both the undergraduate and graduate levels while at Gallaudet University. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University in Audiology and Speech Sciences. She takes a special interest in teaching and educational training at all age levels, tinnitus treatment, assistive technology and humanitarian outreach efforts. Dr. Spoor was the 2010 Maryland Academy of Audiology President and currently Chairs the Advocacy Committee for the Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA).
Andrea E. Liacouras, Au.D., CCC-A, is a nationally certified doctor of audiology. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in Elementary Education and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Dr. Liacouras completed her Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Audiology, with a focus in pediatrics, at Gallaudet University in Washington, DC. She completed her audiology residency at Georgetown University hospital and has worked in a variety of hospital, clinical and private practice environments obtaining extensive knowledge in diagnostics, amplification options, electrophysiological and vestibular assessments and evaluations.
Dr. Liacouras treats her patients like family. She believes in empowering her patients with knowledge so that the most beneficial decisions regarding hearing healthcare needs are made. Dr. Liacouras is fully versed in a wide range of hearing aids. She is also fluent in Sign Language. Dr. Liacouras is licensed in Maryland and the District of Columbia and is a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association.

Dr. Mary Adams
Mary Adams, Au.D., CCC-A, is a distinguished member of the A&A Hearing Group team. Dr. Adams holds national certification in audiology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Towson University, Master’s degree from the University of Connecticut, and the Doctor of Audiology degree from the Arizona School of Health Sciences. Dr. Adams brings many years of experience in clinical and rehabilitative audiology to our organization.
Dr. Adams has particular expertise in adult audiology and hearing aid services. She enjoys meeting each patient and helping them find the best solutions to overcome the challenges and frustrations of their hearing loss.
Dr. Adams is married to her college sweetheart and is the mother of two grown sons. One lives and works in D.C. and the other is an Air Force pilot. Activities she enjoys include choral singing and rooting for the Washington Redskins.
Courtney Campbell, B.A. is currently working on her doctorate of Audiology at the University at Buffalo and will be completing her last year of schooling doing an externship here at A&A Hearing Group. Courtney has many interests within the profession of Audiology including hearing aid fittings and helping patients who suffer with tinnitus. She also has a strong interest in hearing research and spent several years at the University at Buffalo doing research on tinnitus and noise induced hearing loss in animals. A&A Hearing Group is happy to have to have Courtney on our team.
Caroline Pirtle currently wears 2 hats at our Frederick office, providing our patients with services as a hearing instrument specialist, as well as managing the front office. She is excellent working with hearing aids and enjoys meeting and working with patients and helping with the coordination of patient care.
